Un grand circuit qui va nous faire avaler pas mal de kilomètres et nous permettre de voir l'essentiel de ces pays : 4,5 jours en Jordanie – 8,5 jours en Syrie

Départ de Lyon, via Paris pour Amman par vol Air France
Arrivée à Amman à 19.00 (Il sera seulement 18.00 heure de Paris)

Amman, l’ancienne Philadelphie romaine : l’amphithéâtre, la citadelle, ses musées
Les Châteaux du Désert bâtis par les califes omeyyades vers le VII et VIIIe siècles.
Nuitée à Amman.
Jour 3 - dimanche 14 septembre
Madaba, visite de l’église contenant la plus vieille carte connue de la terre sainte en mosaïque.
Le Mont Mébo, vue sur la terre promise.
Déjeuner au bord de la Mer Morte.
La forteresse croisée de Renaud de Châtillon à Kerak

Pétra, l’antique cité nabatéenne creusée dans la roche rose et violette.

Le désert du Wadi Rum où a vécu Lawrence d’Arabie

Jerash, la Pompéi du Moyen Orient, l’arc de triomphe d’Adrien, l’hippodrome, le temple d’Artémis, le forum.
Passage de la frontière syrienne
Le temple romain de Bosra.

Palmyre, la ville de la reine Zénobie : la rue à colonnades, le Tétrapyle, les temples de Bel, Baal Shamin et Nebo, les thermes, la vallée des tombes (tombes en tours et tombes souterraines), le musée archéologique.

Damas : le souk El Hamidiyé, la grande mosquée des Omeyyades, le Palais Azem, la Via Recta, la maison d’Anamie, le musée national

Journée de liberté à Damas (je suis en train d'établir mon programme pour cette journée, avec notamment un passage quasi obligé dans un hammam pour un massage relaxant pour récupérer de la fatigue du voyage).

Retour à Lyon via Paris par vol Air France
Nous sommes 27 personnes inscrites sur ce circuit, d'un peu toutes les régions françaises, dont une majorité de retraités dans une tranche d'âges qui va de 45 à 82 ans !

Madaba, visit of the church containing the oldest known mosaic map of the Holy Land.
Mount Nébo overlooking the promised land.
Lunch beside the Dead Sea.
The croisée fortress of Renaud de Chatillon in Kerak
